On January 18 a commencement was held in the Campanile room at the Memorial Union for the inaugural cohort of Cardinal Women. Jalynn Almond and Kate Goudy were among the 72 women participating in the personal and professional leadership development program specifically for women who are faculty and professional and scientific staff at Iowa State University. During the commencement, Kate was asked to speak about her experience, "All the sessions were great, but session 2 about inner mentor struck a cord with me. After all these years, I finally gave my inner mentor permission to speak up, to be loud, to be persistent."
