Kate Goudy-Haht (pictured), Program Coordinator, received her Master’s degree in Family and Consumer Sciences at Iowa State University (ISU) this semester (December ’16). Goudy-Haht’s creative component was titled: Expanding the scope of Parenting: It’s A Life: From adolescence through emerging adulthood. Goudy-Haht earned her degree through the Great Plains Interactive Distance Education Alliance (GPIDEA), which is housed within the College of Human Sciences. Goudy-Haht mentioned, “GPIDEA is great for people who are working full-time, raising a family and wanting to earn an advanced degree all at the same time. Being able to take online classes from other accredited universities as well as Iowa State was a fantastic experience. I would highly recommend GPIDEA to others looking at pursuing a FCS master’s degree.”

Goudy-Haht utilized ISU’s Tuition Reimbursement Program to complete her degree. Goudy-Haht noted, “I appreciate ISU offering this program to Professional and Scientific employees, it is a wonderful additional benefit!”Learn more about GPIDEA, the Tuition Reimbursement Program, and PIAL.
